Step 1. Initial Consultation & Free Quote.
We begin with a free consultation to understand your needs and provide expert advice. We then offer a restoration and/or gold leaf gilding strategy and detailed quotation at no cost.
Step 3. Preservation of Integrity and Ornamentation.
Restoration starts with a thorough assessment, ensuring the frame's integrity and original ornamentation are preserved, staying true to the period.
Step 2. Free Pickup and Delivery.
We offer free pickup and delivery within Melbourne-metro and the Mornington Peninsula region. We include shipping costs in our detailed quote for clients outside these areas.
Step 4. Expert Carving / Casting.
Missing sections are expertly carved or cast to match the original design, preparing them for the gilding process.
Step 5. Application of Gold Leaf.
24ct Gold Leaf, Silver Leaf, or Imitation Gold (Schlaggmetal or Dutch Metal) is applied through traditional Burnished Water Gilding or Oil Gilding techniques, to achieve a flawless finish.
Step 6. Matching the Original Patina.
The final step involves careful toning to match the original patina, ensuring a seamless restoration that honors the piece's history.
